Technology Changes

Over the past few years, technology has changed people’s lives and their habits of how to improve their knowledge. However, some people think that technology makes us to lose out on being more social with other people or that technology can distract you for learning. Do you think that people have become more unsocial with other people because they spend too much time on their cellphones? Have you ever found yourself addicted to your smart phone because of its amazing apps or games? In this time, cellphones form part in our daily life.

Through since I got my first smart phone as a Second Language Speaker, my English skills have been improving so far by using some apps, such as Google Dictionary, YouTube, Blogger, and my favorite one which is VOA. At the beginning when I first started taking English classes, I actually used Google Translator which a few months later I understood that this using this app all the time wasn’t the best way for my writings. I understood that the best way to learn better is through reading, hearing, listening, and shearing our writings with my classmates.

       Each app has helped me in one way, for example on Blogger my classmates and I can shear each other’s writings and read them. There I can learn new vocabulary, other writing structure and how they develop their writings. We learn from our mistakes, too. The most interesting part on this app is that we can see and compare our writings because each student comes from different country and speak different language.

A few months ago, I didn’t know about VOA which after I downloaded it, it became one of favorite apps. Using this app, my reading and listening skills have improve because I can read while at the same time hear the article from a native English speaker. That’s really helpful because once I download some articles that I like, I can hear and read them anytime even when I am ridding on the train.     

    Despite for the useful and constant smart cellphones’ improvements, there are some people who are not used to feeling comfortable using them. For me, Technology makes my daily life easier and I can learn from it. Technology is like the sky, it is immense that you cannot see its end and I think that without cellphone is like being along in a desert.
